RCMP and sheriffs in Airdrie stopped a driver early Tuesday morning and say he blew well over the legal limit when he provided a breath sample.

Police were alerted to a possible impaired driver by a concerned citizen at about 8:00 a.m.

Officers were able to stop the vehicle on a residential street in Airdrie and found the 51-year-old driver to be intoxicated.

He was arrested and provided police with a breath sample at the Airdrie RCMP Detachment.
