Two drivers are facing some serious charges after they were caught driving the wrong way down two major highways west of Calgary.

Cochrane RCMP says the incidents occurred early Saturday morning, the first at about 2:30 a.m.

They received a call of a truck driving west in the eastbound lanes of Highway 1 near Highway 22.

They managed to pull the vehicle over near Morley Road, with the driver still in the wrong lane.

A 46-year-old Calgary man is facing charges.

About an hour later, RCMP was called about an eastbound vehicle in the westbound lanes of Highway 1A.

The driver, a 23-year-old man from Calgary, is facing charges in that incident.

Both men are scheduled to appear in Cochrane Provincial Court in September.

The Cochrane RCMP would like to thank the help of the members of the public who dialed 911 when they spotted the two impaired drivers.
