A woman is in life threatening condition in hospital after her vehicle was T-boned on 14 Street on Sunday night.

Emergency crews responded to the crash in the intersection of 21 Avenue and 14 Street N.W. at about 7:23 p.m.

Police say a 2005 Dodge SX was travelling west on 21 Avenue when it failed to stop at a stop sign and proceeded to cross 14 Street.

The Dodge, driven by a 49-year-old woman, was then T-boned by a 2008 Toyota Tundra, which was travelling northbound on 14 Street.

The impact of the crash caused both vehicles to spin around and travel several metres before coming to rest in the northwest corner of the intersection.

The driver of the Dodge suffered life threatening injuries and the 30-year-old man driving the Toyota was not injured.

The Calgary Police Service Traffic Section is investigating the incident and say alcohol and speed do not appear to be factors in the collision.
