Calgary Police are looking for a suspect who stole a truck early Monday morning, running over a man in the process, sending him to hospital.

Police were called to Thornlee Crescent N.W. at about 12:30 a.m.

They say that a suspect crashed a stolen truck in the area and was attempting to steal another one when a man came out to protect his wife’s vehicle.

The suspect ran over the man as he tried to stop the theft, dragging him a significant distance before finally fleeing the scene.

The victim was rushed to hospital in life-threatening condition, but he has since been upgraded to stable condition.

Medical staff says he suffered severe bruising in the incident.

Police are looking for the suspect and the stolen truck, which is described as a white Ford F-350, quad cab.
