CALGARY – A woman in her 20’s was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after a car crash in the city’s southeast, Friday morning.
Fire crews were forced to extricate the victim from her vehicle after it collided with a light standard on the northbound off-ramp from Macleod Trail to Midlake Blvd. S.E.
Police say the victim was driving the wrong way on the ramp at the time of the crash, and suffered non-life threatening injuries.
The crash caused two large lights on the light standard to become loose and dangle by their wires over the ground below. Enmax crews were called to fix the lights.
The off-ramp was closed for several hours while police investigated.
