CALGARY – The driver of a mini-van is in custody after a crash early Saturday morning.
Investigators say it began as a hit-and-run, then a fight, and then spiraled into a second crash.
It started at 8th Avenue and 6th Street SW., when a mini-van allegedly sideswiped a small car.
The driver of the car tried to stop the offending driver, and jumped into the van as it sped away.
The two had a struggle inside the mini-van before it crashed into a restaurant two blocks away at 6th Avenue and 6th Street SW around 3:30 am.
Officers say the driver of the mini-van is under arrest and alcohol may be a factor.
EMS says the driver of the car was taken to hospital with non- life-threatening injuries.
