Calgary police believe that speed and alcohol may be behind a serious crash that shut down a section of 16 Ave. N.E.
They say that at about 2:30 a.m., a car slammed into the back of a street sweeper that was working on 19 St.
The driver was trapped as a result of the crash and the fire department needed to cut him out of the wreckage.
Police are investigating a serious crash that has sent a man to hospital after he was trapped in his vehicle.
He was taken to hospital in serious condition.
The area was shut down for several hours after the crash.
Police remain on scene for the investigation and only one eastbound lane is getting through
