Police are investigating the scene of an early morning crash on Deerfoot Trail that sent a young man to hospital. Stephanie Brennan reports.

Emergency crews are investigating what made a man lose control of his vehicle and slam head-on into a concrete wall on the ramp from Deerfoot Trail to Memorial Drive.
The crash occurred just after 5 a.m. on Friday morning on the ramp from northbound Deerfoot to westbound Memorial Drive.
Crews had to extricate the 26-year-old male driver of the vehicle, who hit a concrete barrier and a light standard.
Police are investigating the cause of a crash early Friday morning that sent a man to hospital.
Crews had to cut the roof away from a crashed vehicle to rescue the critically injured driver inside.

Firefighters are on scene at a serious crash on Deerfoot Trail on Friday morning.
Emergency crews are working to extricate the driver of a car involved in a serious crash on the ramp from Deerfoot Trail to Memorial Drive.
They say the late model BMW was heavily damaged in the crash and firefighters needed to remove the roof of the car to get him out
He was not conscious when he was taken out.
The driver, who has not yet been identified, was sent to hospital.
He is currently in critical life-threatening condition.
Police shut down the ramp for the investigation into the cause of the crash for about four hours after the crash.
It was reopened at 9:30 a.m.
The man remains in hospital
