Two police officers were taken to hospital after their cruiser collided with a cab while en route to a call in the city’s east end early Sunday morning.

The cruiser was travelling with its sirens on in the vicinity of Danforth and Greenwood avenues at around 4:45 a.m. when the cab attempted to make a turn, moving into its path and resulting in the collision.

According to police, the two officers were both taken to hospital with minor injuries and were treated and then released.

Traffic Services is investigating the crash and it is not known whether charges will be filed.
