An elderly man has died after being struck by a vehicle in Brampton Tuesday afternoon.
Police say the man was struck while walking his dog near Linkdale Road and Centre Street North at around 2:30 p.m. His dog died at the scene.
He was rushed to hospital where he died a short time later.
Initial reports suggest the man was on a sidewalk when he was struck.
Police say the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is being questioned by investigators.
The area is closed to traffic while investigators survey the scene.
