A woman is dead after being struck by a car in the city's west end, Toronto EMS says.

The 39-year-old woman was struck at Eglinton Avenue West and Northcliffe Boulevard, just east of Dufferin Street, shortly before 10 p.m.

Police at the scene told CP24 the woman was struck by a vehicle that was travelling west toward Northcliffe Blvd. Her body was thrown several metres by the impact.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the car was being driven by a 19-year-old man.
