A 22-year-old Lethbridge man who fell out of a moving vehicle last week has died.

Hayden Reeves Heavy Shields, died in the Foothills Hospital on Saturday.

Last Friday, June 6th, the man was rushed to the Chinook Regional Hospital with life-threatening head injuries. He was then taken by STARS air ambulance to Calgary.

The man had been riding in the box of a pick-up truck when he fell out and hit his head.

Lethbridge Police say that drugs and alcohol were a factor.

The 19-year-old driver of the truck, Venessa Lilian Francis, has been charged with one count of dangerous driving causing bodily harm. Now that the victim has died, the charges will change.

Francis is scheduled to appear in court June 16.
