
Driver Improvement Program (DIP) with the Aggregate national company of Chekka
Mr.Antoine Al Hajj from YASA gave the DIP for the Aggregate national company of Chekka drivers .The theoretical training that was conducted to improve their knowledge and public awareness about driving behavior and attitudes, providing training in defensive driving and to provide sufficient information to understand the mechanisms of trauma and how to avoid preventable injuries.
Major DIP objectives:
Trainees at the end of the course are committed to improve the following:
1- Obeying all traffic rules and regulations and Influence other drivers to respect them
2- Identify driving hazards
3- Understand defensive driving techniques
4- Prevent Road traffic related crashes and injuries that could be faced on roads
5- Prevent Road traffic related injuries, especially those related to vulnerable road users ( pedestrian…)
Major DIP topics:
1- Vehicle operation ( explaining all the vehicle’s units and functionality).
2- How to keep vehicles in good operation conditions.
3- Vehicle maintenance ( tire treads, oil change, lighting, brakes…)
4- Pre-drive Inspection ( Tires and mirrors properly adjusted)
5- Keep cool and avoid disturbance caused by others.
6- Driving in nights or in other dangerous conditions such as bad weather, poor light or road work).
7- Seat-belts
8- Eyes Movement
9- Being always alert and be prepared
10- Safe driving policies and regulations to reduce driving risks
11- Avoid distracted driving
12- Avoid human errors
13- Defensive driving behavior and techniques
14- Know how to safely skip during unsecure situations
15- Parking safely16- Driving at intersections
Many YASA flyers and YASA books such as driver guide, driver education books (Questions and Answers) were distributed to participants. At the end of the training, YASA certificates were distributed to successful participants.
