YASA gave lectures to the Lebanese Army in Baalbeck
YASA has been cooperating with the Lebanese Army for over 9 years now and YASA Specialized Volunteer have been giving lectures on various safety issues. As part of this long term cooperation, YASA gave lecture to around 500 Lebanese Army individuals and officers about Road safety on June 27 and 29, 2007 in the Lebanese Army institute in Baalbeck. Hani Koubeisi who is the Manager of the YASA’s Driver Improvement Program, stressed on the fundamentals of road safety. Along with a wide variety of YASA brochures, all the attendees received the YASA specialized public safety journals that are published in cooperation with Al Nahar and the Daily Star newspapers.
YASA lectures in the Internal Security Forces (ISF) Institute
The cooperation of YASA with the I.S.F is growing and as part of it, YASA volunteered to lecture to I.S.F individuals about road safety on June 19, and on July 3, 2007 at the I.S.F institute in Warwar. Hani Koubeissi, manager of YASA’s Driver Improvement Program, and Joseph Ballan stressed on the fundamentals of road safety and safe riding and the importance of good relationship between the citizen and the policeman. Along with a wide variety of YASA brochures, all the attendees received the YASA specialized public safety journals that are published in cooperation with Al Nahar and the Daily Star newspapers.
“For your safety” a new YASA program on Tele Lumiere and NourSat
Through its efforts in spreading awareness about injury prevention and safety promotion, YASA started on Thursday July 5, 2007 in cooperation with Tele Lumiere and Noursat a weekly TV Talk Show about public safety which is prepared and presented by Dr. Hanna El Jur who is an active volunteer with YASA since many years. This program is broadcasted live every Thursday between 18:00 and 19:00. (Beirut time).
YASA lecture in Dlebta
YASA participated in the Festival Organized by Saint Jacob Health Center in Dlebta - Keserwen on Sunday July 8, 2007. Ziad Akl, founder of YASA, lectured about the importance of road safety and injury prevention. Along with a wide variety of YASA brochures, all the attendees received the YASA specialized publicsafety journals that are published in cooperation with Al Nahar and the Daily Star newspapers.
YASA participation in Road Safety Day in AUST
YASA participated in the Road Safety Day organized by the American University of Science and Technology- AUST in Zahle on Wednesday May 30, 2007. The activity started with a lecture given by Charbel Allam about road safety. It was then followed by a live traffic crash simulation which explained to the public attending the impact of traffic crashes and highlights how the rescue and first aid is coordinated and performed between the Lebanese Red Cross and the Lebanese Civil Defense. It also helps reinforce the emergency numbers among the attendees.
MTCL Plants Cedar Trees to the memory of the Lebanese Army and the Red Cross martyrs
In accordance with the activities of the Motorcycle Tourism Club for Lebanon (MTCL) aiming at organizing programs for motorcyclist safety (helmet use, avoiding high speed driving…) and get acquainted with new regions in Lebanon, the club organized a convoy that started from Hamra Street in Beirut taking the highway toward the north reaching the Cedars. This trip took place on Sunday July 1, 2007. The participants counted more than a hundred of the clubs’ motorcyclist members accompanied by internal security motorcyclists. This activity aimed at saluting the “Lebanese Army and Lebanese Red Cross Martyrs” by planting cedar trees in the Cedars in the presence of the Lebanese Army Commander Representative and many other important personalities of the region.
