drunk driver mother son

A heartbroken mother, Loubna Khader, whose son was left brain dead when a drunk driver crashed into the family’s Sedan in 2009, has publicly confronted the man, ripping into him with enough rage and fury to shake the earth.

At the time of the crash, Steward Richardson’s blood alcohol content was three times the legal limit. The boy, Abdallah Khader, was left in a vegetative state. His health has been failing as of late, and so his family is now working on a “do-not-resuscitate” order. It is an awful situation for any parent, and it seems that Khader wanted Richardson to feel the full weight of this tremendous loss.

Upon finding out that the man wanted to apologize in person for what he had done, the grief-stricken mother agreed, so long as News 8 could be present at the jail for the meeting. She wanted the world to see how drunk driving can tear families apart, and to put a face to the name of the man whose careless actions cost her her son.

“Can you hear me? Can you hear me? Look at this face! Look at him!” Khader held up a picture of her son as she yelled at Richardson through the glass separating her from the apologetic man.

“I look at him every day,” he said. “I’m sorry.”

What an emotional scene.

Richardson has spent the last five years in jail in Fort Worth, Texas, but has yet to be tried for the crash as prosecutors are hoping to charge him with a more serious crime, which would keep him behind bars for the rest of his life. In the meantime, Abdallah’s family members are trying to pick up the pieces and find some sort of closure; however, they will never absolve Richardson for his terrible crime.

“I am never going to forgive you for what you did to my son!,” Khader screamed at the disgraced man. “Never.”

My goodness. My heart goes out to this family
